In the process of electrolysis the pH value of water is changing so that it becomes acidic or alkaline. It is the electrolysis process that creates Molecular Hydrogen (H2) by converting positively charged Hydrogen (H+) through the consumption of Hydrogen ions.
The water ioniser we recommend produces 7 different types of water.
2.5pH Electrolysed Oxidising Acidic water (not for drinking). This is a potent sterilisation agent that has been proven to kill pathogenic bacteria. It removes protein based spills, disinfects your hands and can be helpful with a variety of skin conditions.
6.0pH Acidic Beauty water (not for drinking). Your skin has a pH of between 4.7 and 5.75. Beauty water is great for toning your skin.
7.0pH Neutral water. This is recommended for babies and when taking medications.
8.5pH Alkaline Drinking water. This water is alkaline in nature and also contains Molecular Hydrogen (H2).
9.0pH Alkaline Drinking water. This is incredible for cooking and will enhance the flavour of food. It also contains Molecular Hydrogen (H2).
9.5pH Alkaline Drinking water. This water contains an abundance of Molecular Hydrogen (H2).
11.5pH Alkaline Water (not for drinking). Due to its high concentration of Molecular Hydrogen (H2) this water has a potent anti-inflammatory action and may help reduce pain and swelling. It can also be used to clean chemicals from foods soaked in the water. It can be used for removing oil based stains as well as a washing detergent.
We have a booklet available that discusses all of the above in detail. Please request a copy.
Molecular hydrogen gas or H2, is the primary form in which hydrogen is found. In other words, two hydrogen atoms (H) are covalently bonded (a type of chemical bond) together as H-H. Because there are two hydrogen atoms, we call this diatomic hydrogen (“di” meaning two). Because the hydrogen atoms are covalently bonded together, they form a molecule; so H2 is also referred to as Molecular Hydrogen (H2). It is a colourless, odourless, tasteless, non-metallic, highly flammable gas and very explosive above a 4.6% concentration by volume. It is this form of hydrogen that has been shown to exert the wide range of therapeutic effects. Some articles refer to this as “hydrogen-rich water”. It is the smallest molecule in the universe and this extremely small size and its high lipid solubility allows it to easily diffuse into the subcellular compartments of the mitochondria and other locations where it exerts an antioxidant effect and it specifically neutralises a dangerous free radical called Hydroxyl by converting it into water.

Unfortunately, there is no hard and fast answer to this yet. There is still research going on in this area and the recommendations seem to vary from 3-10mg per day. What it really comes down to is the parts per million (ppm) concentration of H2 in the water. With the device we use and recommend the ppm is 1.6. This means that in 1 litre of water there is 1.6 mg of Molecular H2. If I need to get 3mg into my body, I need to consume 1.87 litres of water per day (3/1.6=1.87), 1ppm = 1mg in 1 litre of water.
When it comes to hydration, it is not as clear cut as above, as each person and each body is different. If you are a larger person, you may need to consume more, as your body needs more water than a smaller person. A simple guide is that a healthy adult needs around 35 ml of water per kilogram of body weight each day. A person weighing 50 kg requires 1.6 litres, 60kg - 2.1 litres, 70kg - 2.4 litres and 80kg - 2.8 litres. Simply divide your weight in kilograms by 35, 100/35= 2.85 litres of water needed to stay properly hydrated.
If you are suffering from a chronic disease, to see a therapeutic response you may need to provide more H2 to your body. This is why it is really important that you use a technology that can provide a high ppm of H2 in the water.
To explain this, let's say your technology can provide 0.5 ppm of H2, this would mean for you to get to the level of 3mg per day, you would need to consume (3/0.5-=6) 6 litres of water per day, and this might be too much for you. It is also important not to consume too much at one time, but to spread your consumption out over the course of the day. The way we like to think of it is that you need to give your body a constant supply of H2 antioxidants to fight the free radicals that are constantly produced, so replacing as many beverages as possible and consuming Molecular H2 Water instead is our preferred approach.
Important: If you have a kidney disorder, you may need to consider inhalation of H2 rather than drinking more water than your kidneys can handle as this could be detrimental to your health.

Molecular Hydrogen (H2) holds the title of the smallest antioxidant in existence. In comparison, other antioxidants like Vitamin C or Vitamin E are significantly larger molecules than Molecular Hydrogen (H2). They must undergo the process of travelling through your digestive system, being absorbed in your intestines, circulating in your blood and entering your cellular fluid before they can effectively eliminate free radicals. However, if you have inflammation in your digestive system, it will impact both your large and small intestine’s ability to absorb nutrients ingested.
H2 is so minuscule that it can effortlessly penetrate through your stomach lining, initiating its antioxidant actions inside your cells immediately. Being in a gaseous state, H2 essentially floats through your cells, exhibiting rapid diffusion and carries out its antioxidant function unhindered by the typical mechanisms that impede the free movement of other antioxidants throughout the body.
Moreover, due to its small size, H2 can easily traverse the Blood-Brain Barrier, a feat challenging for other antioxidants and some may not succeed at all. The brain is particularly prone to oxidative stress as it consumes 20% of the oxygen you breathe despite constituting only 2% of your body's weight. Therefore, safeguarding your brain with antioxidants, especially one as effective as H2, is of paramount importance. There is a growing body of evidence that shows oxidative stress is a contributor to many neurological diseases such as Alzheimer’s Disease and Parkinson’s Disease.
There is no area of the human body that Molecular Hydrogen (H2) cannot reach. Remember we have 36 trillion cells in our bodies. Molecular Hydrogen (H2) is the most bioavailable molecule that exists. Not only because it is so small, but also because it is neutral in its charge and because of this Molecular Hydrogen (H2) has the highest and fastest diffusion rate of any molecule.
Because of these properties Molecular Hydrogen (H2) can cross all human barriers, like the intestinal barrier, the skin barrier, the blood-brain barrier, the placental barrier, the testes barrier and the alveolar barrier in the lungs. Molecular Hydrogen (H2) can also diffuse into even the smallest compartments in our cells, like the organelles, mitochondria and the cell nucleus.

Due to its tiny size Molecular Hydrogen (H2) will not stay in any container for very long and by the time you purchase the alkaline water there will be little or no Molecular Hydrogen (H2) left in the water. The water may have its alkaline pH but this will have little effect when compared to Molecular Hydrogen (H2) water.
When drinking Molecular Hydrogen (H2) water it is best consumed directly from the medical grade water ioniser we recommend. When producing 9.5pH water the Molecular Hydrogen (H2) concentration is clearly visible in the water. It is recommended that the water is consumed straight away but will hold its Molecular Hydrogen (H2) content for a number of hours.
The water ioniser industry contains many manufacturers that claim that their technology is the best, however one needs to be careful when choosing a device that produces water that you will consume on a daily basis.
The technology we recommend holds medical grade certification in Japan, where some of the strictest certification processes exists. The solid electrolysis plates are made of titanium dipped in platinum which are certified as medical grade. Competing products will use non medical grade titanium dipped in platinum or mesh plates which are prone to degradation due to the power required in the electrolysis process. To compensate for this they use switch mode power supply (SMPS) which protects the plates. In the medical grade device we recommend solid plates that are capable of handling high power levels are used and the power supplied to the plates comes from a transformer rather than an inferior switch mode power supply. Any educated engineer will confirm this fact to you.
